How To Use the Wind Sector Analysis

Updated over 2 months ago

Introduction

The Wind Sector Analysis module allows you to evaluate wind data so that you can optimize energy generation and performance.

Steps

Go to: Wind Analysis > Wind Sector Analysis

  1. Go to the Wind Analysis Module and open the Wind Sector Analysis page

  2. Select the individual power plant you want to analyze. You can only view 1 power plant at a time

  3. Use the calendar to select a time period to analyze

  4. Power Plant Details:

    • Turbine Model: OEM code

    • Nominal Power: The maximum capacity under favorable conditions as reported by OEM

    • Dominant Wind Direction: The main wind direction during the time period analyzed

    • Rotor Diameter: As reported by OEM

    • Nacelle Temp: The average temperature collected at the nacelle for the time period analyzed

    • Ambient Temp: The average ambient temperature collected for the time period analyzed

  5. Power Plant Performance:

    • Production: The amount of energy produced by the power plant for the period

    • Energy Loss: The energy loss due to wind sector limitations and inefficiencies

    • Avg. Wind Speed: The average wind speed for the period

  6. Wind Graphs:

    • Wind Speed by Sector: Wind speed collected for each wind sector

    • Energy by Sector: Energy produced by each wind sector

    • Frequency: Frequency of wind from each wind sector

    • % Loss by Sector: Loss of energy calculated for each wind sector

    • The 3 dots icon next to each graph allows you to Export the graph data in XLSX format or to Expand the graph view
