How To Create a New XY Scatter Analysis

Updated over 2 months ago

Introduction

You can create a new scatter analysis in 5 steps. In them, you will select which assets you want to analyze, which asset signals you want to plot, and configure your new analysis for a better experience.

Steps

Click on the New Analysis button to start creating your new XY scatter analysis chart. A pop-up window will appear on the right-hand side of the screen from where you can configure your new analysis.

Note: The following image contains all 5 screens/steps necessary to generate a new XY Scatter Analysis. When you create a new scatter analysis, you will see the screens in order, one at a time.

  1. Select Assets:

    • Here you have a dropdown with all the available assets connected to Farsight®. You can select one or multiple assets from the available list. After picking, you can move to the next step by clicking on the Next button

  2. Set the horizontal X axis:

    • You can pick only 1 signal from the list. You can choose between a Main Signal or a manufacturer specific signal (i.e. Enercon XML DA). Once you make your choice, click on the Next button to pick the Y Axis

  3. Set the vertical Y Axis:

    • You can pick between Main Signals and manufacturer specific signals. For the Y axis you are allowed to pick either 1, 2 or a maximum of 3 signals. After this step you can plot your XY Scatter Analysis as is or you can click the Next button to go add an optional Gradient Signal

  4. Add a Gradient Signal (Optional):

    • You can choose to input a maximum of 1 signal, with choices between main signals and manufacturer specific signals. Once done you can review all choices by going to the last optional Review step by clicking the Next button

  5. Review (Optional):

    • Review the New Scatter Configuration

Once you are happy with the review, click on the Plot button to finish generating the new XY Scatter Analysis chart. The chart will be generated showing your plotted data.

You can again review it, and once you are happy, click on the Save button to save your new XY Scatter Analysis chart. A pop-up window will appear where you can name your new analysis. Once saved, you will be able to navigate to your new plot via the XY Scatter Analysis dropdown found in the top-right corner.

Note: You can move between steps by clicking on the Previous/Next buttons or by clicking on the step icons.
