Farsight® keeps track of all your onboarded assets via secure VPN connections. For your convenience Farsight® offers the option to set up a secure Site-to-Site VPN connection for your Enercon UA assets.
Requirements
A working Farsight® account with the permissions to Add Connections
A remote subnet setup on your own infrastructure
Pre-Shared Key (PSK) setup to work with your infrastructure
Your username and password for the Enercon centralized server – required to finish your asset onboarding process
Your OPC server address and credentials (if necessary) – required to finish your asset onboarding process
Technical Specifications
The following technical specifications are necessary for the setup that must be done beforehand on the user infrastructure in order to use the Site-to-Site VPN connection.

Note: For now, Site-to-Site VPN connection setup works only for Enercon UA assets.
Set up a Site-to-Site VPN Connection
Go to: Asset Manager > Asset Manager > + Add Connection > Wind
Select Enercon UA from the manufacturer dropdown
Click on Site-to-Site VPN
Fill in your Pre-Shared Key (PSK) – This key you have to set up beforehand on your own infrastructure. Here you share it with Farsight® so that we can securely connect to your infrastructure
Fill in your Remote IP. This IP points to your infrastructure
Fill in your Remote Subnet. You need to set up this subnet beforehand on your own infrastructure. Here you share it with Farsight® so that we can securely connect to your infrastructure
Check the Technical Specifications necessary for setup
Click on the Next button. A pop-up window will appear to establish the VPN connection
Establishing the Site-to-Site VPN connection
A pop-up window appears where the Site-to-Site VPN connection setup is tracked.
Once the VPN connection has been successfully established, a green checkmark will appear
This is the Farsight® subnet address that was automatically setup for your use
This is the Farsight® VPN IP address that was automatically setup for your use
You can click to save to clipboard and store these addresses locally in a secure place. Once you are ready to move to the next step, click the Next button.
After you click Next, you will move on to the Add Power Plant step and can proceed like with any other type of Enercon Onboarding. Your Site-to-Site connection has been successfully established, and you can onboard assets onto it.
