Introduction
The weather forecast feature in the GIS module allows you to view 5 days forecast along with the power plant. This helps you to predict if the power production is going to be low or high in the coming days due to the changes in the wind or sun exposure.
Steps
Go to: GIS
1. Log in to Farsight®.
2. Click on GIS in the left-hand side navigation bar.
3. Click on the Settings Wheel at the bottom right of the screen.
4. Click on the Weather tab from the left side of the pop-up screen.
5. Turn on the toggle button to On for Enable Weather.
6. Check the Show 5-days forecast box if you want to view the forecast for 5 days.
7. Choose between Celsius or Fahrenheit by clicking on the radio button next to Celsius and Fahrenheit.
8. Click Save to apply the changes.
9. Click on an asset of your choice to see the weather forecasts next to it. In the case of a solar power plant, you can see Active Power and Irradiance. For the wind turbine, you can see Active Power and Wind Speed. This small display of the weather card displays only real-time information such as temperature, wind speed, and precipitation.
10. Clicking on the Expand button on the top right corner will give you the expanded view of the weather card.
The expanded card shows the forecast (if enabled), like the image below:
Note: The Weather card is only displayed at the site level. The site’s technology does not affect the information displayed on the weather card.
