Integrating new Photovoltaic (PV or Solar) assets into Farsight® is a straightforward process, provided you have the necessary information ready. The goal of Farsight® is to reduce the onboarding time from weeks and months to under 15 minutes, allowing for a seamless and efficient setup.
Requirements

Huawei FusionSolar Northbound API URL endpoint
API name and password
Adding a Connection, Sites and Assets in Farsight®
Once you have the requirements above, you will need to use the onboarding wizard to add a connection and then add your sites and assets.
Go to: Asset Manager > Asset Manager > Add Connection
Select Solar
Click on the Next button
Log in and Connect
From the dropdown select FusionSolar
Check the Network Requirements. You need to ensure that you have at least 1 Mbps upload speed, 2 Mbps download speed and 100 ms latency to use Farsight® effectively
Enter the Fusion Solar API base URL
Enter your Account name
Enter your Account password
Click on Test Connection to make sure everything is working. This is mandatory to be able to proceed to the next step. If successful, then you can proceed to the next step and add a power plant. If the test fails, recheck your inputs and then contact us if you are still experiencing issues
Click on the Next button
Add Power Plant
Select one site from the list
It is recommended that you import the historical data for the site. If you do, you will be able to use the Auto-discover feature to discover all assets that belong to the specific site and identify their models automatically
Click on the Save and Proceed button to go to the next step of adding assets
Add Assets
After clicking Save and Proceed you will be taken to the Asset Manager page. From here you can now see your new FusionSolar connection.
Connections Page
Here you can view all existing connections, including the newly created FusionSolar connection.
Check the Asset Manager connections list. Click on the newly created FusionSolar connection
Sites Page
Here you can view all sites added to your connection.
Click on the site you want to add assets to. In the image below we only have one site available to choose from
Click on the + Add Sites button to add more sites to your FusionSolar connection
Add Assets to a Connection
The assets list is prepopulated with all available assets. You can choose which individual assets you want to add to your power plant.
Click on which individual assets you want to add
Click on the cabin dropdown to select a cabin. If no cabins exist, you can create a new one by typing in a name and clicking the + Add new button
Type in the new cabin name. Industry practices suggest that cabins should be named in order, from A to Z
Click on the + Add new button to finish creating the new cabin
Choose whether to import historical data or not. If you want to import data, you can choose to import from the last month, the last three months, the last year, or up to 10 years. Depending on the subscription tier you are using, some limits may apply
After you finish selecting all the assets that you want to add and finish adding cabins to all of them, the Finish button will change to a blue color signaling that you can finish the process of adding assets. Click on the blue Finish button.
View Assets
After you finish adding your assets you will be automatically taken to the Assets Manager page.
Here you can see all the assets you have added
Here you can see the asset type. In the picture above we can see that we have added a cabin type asset
If you added an asset in error, you can remove the individual asset by clicking on the trash can icon
To see what is inside each individual cabin asset, simply click on its name.

Here you can see the type of assets inside the cabin. In the example above, they are inverter type assets

Here you can see the power output capability of the asset in megawatts (MW)
From the actions column, you can choose to delete any asset by clicking on the trash can icon
