Updated over 4 months ago

Adding PV Gantner (Q.reader) Connections, Sites and Assets to Farsight.

Integrating new Photo Voltaic ( Solar) assets into Farsight is a straightforward process, provided you have the necessary information and files ready. Farsight’s goal is to reduce the onboarding time from weeks and months to under 15 minutes, allowing for a seamless and efficient setup.

Requirements

  • Farsight® Admin account

  • FTP credentials file or FTP credentials

Note: FTP credentials consist of the server address (or hostname), the username, the password, and the port number.

Adding a connection, sites and assets in Farsight

Once you have the requirements above, you will need to use the onboarding wizard to add a connection and then add your sites and assets.

Go to: Asset Manager > Asset Manager > Add Connection

  1. Select Solar

  2. Click on the Next button

Log in and Connect

  1. Select the data source Gantner (Q.reader)

  2. Upload your FTP credentials JSON file. This should contain your access credentials

  3. Test your connection by clicking on the Test Connection button. This is mandatory to be able to proceed to the next step. If successful, then you can proceed to the next step and add a power plant. If the test fails, recheck your inputs and then contact us

  4. Once your connection is secured, click on Next

Alternatively, you can enter your credentials manually. Click on Skip upload and enter credentials manually.

  1. Add your FTP Host

  2. Add you username

  3. Add your password

  4. Test your connection by clicking on the Test Connection button

Add Power Plant

  1. Input the name of the power plant

  2. Add your FTP Path for connection

  3. You can import historical data. If you do, you will be able to use the Autodiscover feature to discover all assets that belong to the specific site and identify their models automatically

  4. These check fields are optional. They let you provide additional configuration, for the device, for the upload intervals and your folder structure for the downloads

  5. Once finished, click Next to proceed to the final step
