Adding Nordex Connections, Sites, and Assets to Farsight
Integrating a Nordex turbine into Farsight is a straightforward process, provided you have the necessary information and files ready.
Farsight’s goal is to reduce the onboarding time from weeks and months to under 10 minutes, allowing for a seamless and efficient setup.
1. Requirements:
· Farsight® Admin account.
· Your site must be equipped with an OpenVPN, as it provides the necessary infrastructure for remote access and data retrieval. Without it, integration cannot proceed.
· To retrieve historical data from your site, a PostgreSQL database and credentials must be provided. This will allow Farsight to communicate with your database and extract relevant data. The format should be as follows:
Address: {ipAddress}:{port}
Username: {username}
Password: {password}
Example:
Address: 192.168.1.1
Username: sqluser
Password: sqlpassword
2. Adding a connection, sites and assets in Farsight
Once you have the requirements above, you will need to use the onboarding wizard to add a connection and then add your sites and assets.
1. You will need to select Wind as a technology, then choose Nordex as manufacturer.
2. The next steps require you to provide the necessary credentials for the OpenVPN connection and upload the .ovpn configuration file
3. Once the VPN connection is established, you will need to provide details for your power plant – OPC server address and username and password if necessary. Here you can also select the data import period – which depends on the amount of data available at the source.
4. You must test the connection before proceeding.
5. Once you add the power plant (site), you will see it in the sites list
6. We need to configure the historical data source for your site – select config
7. The last step is adding your assets
8. Click on the name of your site
9. Select “Add assets” and choose the ones you want to add from the list
a. You are now using the new feature in Farsight – the Autodiscover to discover all assets that belong to the specific site
b. You should specify the turbine models manually
c. You can also change the data import period manually for each asset
